Title: Ingenious Tin Can Ice Cream

Yield: 4 Servings

2cHalf and half
1/2cSugar
1/2tsVanilla extract
  Nuts or fruit, as desired

or your favorite ice cream recipe

1. Combine ingredients in a one-pound coffee can. Place a tight- fitting plastic lid on can.

2. Place can inside a 3-pound coffee can. Pack larger can with crushed ice. Pour at least 3/4 cup of rock salt or table salt over ice.

3. Place a tight-fitting lid on the 3-pound can. Tape with masking tape or duct tape.

4. Roll can back and forth on a table or floor for 15 minutes. Using your feet is legal, but do wear sneakers or socks or something-- can gets COLD.

5. Open the outer can. Remove the inner can. *Wipe lid clean* (important so brine doesn't dribble into ice cream) and open. Use a spatula to stir the mixture and scrape the sides of the inner can. Replace lid of smaller can.

6. Drain liquid from the larger can. Replace smaller can inside larger can, and pack with additional ice and salt. Re-cover and re-tape.

7. Roll can back and forth for 10 minutes.

11. Open outer can. Remove inner can, *wipe lid clean*, and enjoy.
